Fully biodegradable, industrially compostable plant-based resin — the compelling alternative to fossil-based polymers.
Product Overview
PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a thermoplastic polymer produced by the ring-opening polymerisation of our own lactide monomers. It is 100% plant-based, industrially compostable at end-of-life, and processes on conventional plastics-industry equipment — extruders, injection-moulding machines, thermoformers, and fibre-spinning lines.
Our PLA resin portfolio covers grades for rigid packaging (cups, trays, lids), flexible films (shrink wrap, lamination), fibres (nonwovens, apparel), 3D-printing filaments, and compounding bases. Custom-blended masterbatches with starch, TPS, and mineral fillers are also available.
Every tonne of PLA sequesters approximately 1.8 tonnes of atmospheric CO₂ through the sugarcane-corn photosynthesis cycle — making it one of the clearest carbon-negative polymer options on the market.
Key Features
Full conversion to CO₂ and water in commercial composting facilities.
Runs on standard PET/PS equipment with minor parameter tuning.
Exceptional transparency in amorphous grades for packaging.
MFI 2–30 g/10 min — covers injection, extrusion, and fibre grades.
Cost-optimised blends with our own thermoplastic starch.
~1.8 t CO₂ sequestered per tonne produced.
